Safety Day

On Friday, June 2nd, the Marie Jahoda School held a safety day, organized by Die Helfer Wiens. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and other important community helpers set up stations in the school courtyard. The morning began with a demonstration of what happens when you pour water on a grease fire, resulting in a three meter column of flame (with children at a safe distance)! In a playful and interactive manner, students learned from the experts about topics like the Vienna sewer system, police equipment, stranger danger, when and how to put someone in recovery position, warning labels, traffic safety, emergency call boxes, the civil warning system, and so much more!
