The next “Day of Viennese Schools” will take place on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022.
On this day, all Vienna residents are invited to visit one or more of the approximately 700 Viennese schools during instructional time, and to personally get an idea of the pedagogical work that takes place at various school locations.
Each individual school may decide how to present itself, and how to design visitors’ experiences of daily school life. The only rule is that the school door is open, and every visitor is welcome!
In large part, schools will return to normal operation.
Testing: All students will continue to take one PCR test per week.
Masking: All students, personnel, and persons external to the school community are no longer required to wear a mask anywhere in the school building. In the case of an increased number of infections, masks may be temporarily required for individual classes, or for the entire school, at the discretion of the school.
In case of one or more confirmed coronavirus cases in a class, students in the respective class will no longer automatically be sent into distance learning. There is, however, still the possibility that the board of education enacts a relevant provision.
School events should follow the regulations of the event location. Prerequisite for implementaiton of school events include a risk assessment and the development of a security concept and their use if necessary. It must also be ensured that any group taking part in a multi-day school event brings along a sufficient number of rapid tests.
Instructional offerings by non-school instititions or individuals, as well as cooperation with such institutions or individuals, are again permitted.
Parent-teacher meetings may be conducted online or in the school building.
Dear Parents! From now on, please use Schoolfox, the electronic parent book, to notify the school about your child’s illness.
Our school is over 100 years old!
Approximately 360 students from over 35 different countries attend our school.
Our school is named after the Viennese social psychologist Marie Jahoda.
