Our school offers various ways for your child to spend his or her leisure time.
We consider successful after-school care to consist of a balance between guided free time and free play. Our after-school care specialists provide impulses and offer group games, activities, and ideas that include artistic/creative, musical, athletic, technological, research-oriented, and sociopolitical-oriented activities.
At the same time we make sure to allow for free play, where children can decide what to do with their own time. We are convinced that children need times during the day when they are confronted neither with assignments nor with the pressure to achieve, in order to have a better sense of their own needs and to learn how to provide for them. We trust children to decide at any given moment if they need to take a break, or if they would prefer to press ahead with their own projects.
Whenever possible, we want children to move around and enjoy themselves in the fresh air.
Wednesday is “Diversity Day.” Every Wednesday we have time for projects, excursions, museum visits, playgrounds, librararies, and so on.
Our goal for this assignment-free workshop day is to offer children a wide variety of possibilities for spending their free time. This variety makes it possible for children to deeepen and expand their interests, or to develop new ones.
The Kiddy Dance Club, the Vienna City Music School, and other external providers offer fee-based courses on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Day care is also available on school-free days (except for Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays), as well as in the autumn, semester, Easter, and summer holidays (more information under www.ferieninwien.at).
Holiday care will either take place in the school building or in another OVS location in the district.
There is no holiday care offered during the Christmas holidays.
The supervision agreement may only be cancelled at the end of the semester.
A completed cancellation form must be submitted by December 15th, 2021.
Trial Period: After you have registered your child for the first time, there is an 8-week, fee-based trial period. If you wish to cancel your supervision agreement at the end of this period, you must give notice by the end of the 4th week.
